- The TomTom Navigation app requires a GPS signal. 4G-enabled iPads, iPhone 3 and later models have an internal GPS receiver. Users of non-3G iPads and iPod touch 5th gen and later models will require an external GPS receiver. The original iPhone, iPhone 3G/GS, original iPad, original iPod touch and iPod touch 2nd/3rd/4th gen are not supported.
- Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
- Photos can only be used for navigation if you have enabled Location Services in the Camera application.

Pros and cons of TomTom Middle East app for iPhone and iPad

TomTom Middle East app good for

Its the best navigation app for middle east so far.. The only thing that I would ask for is: •Arabic Voice Guides •Arabic Letters Support in search and view places. •Text your location to another iPhone •Rearrange some options for easy access.. Just like clear route option. It must be in the same map and ask for confirm upon clearing the route.
Takes me where i want to be. 90% accurate! I just wish they add the starwars voice pack to iphone! I want darth vader! And yoda instead of the boring narrators!
This worked great in Saudi Arabia, surprisingly accurate although the maps are sssssssslightly outdated. Pricey but worth it.
I always have difficulties to move around UAE as streets are changing on a monthly basis. Finally TomTom arrived here. For me the most useful app for iPad
This is great apps that help me in my trips I advice to download it
I absolutely love this app, I currently using this all over Saudi Arabia and could not believe how well it works out here, you just need some practice for some time to make it work well for you. The best way for this to work for you is by inputing the locations coordinates via google maps by right clicking and choosing what is near by on the location. It is very difficult to search for a location by an address so the best way to find your routes is either by trying to find it under point of interest or the coordinates. Cities and famous malls, rest., etc.. and holy places such as the two harmains are available on there.

Some bad moments

I have been trying to use this app and have concluded that it is completely useless for me for the following reasons: 1. The maps are very out of date and incomplete 2. The app continues to recommend completely wrong directions (including obvious bugs like making incorrect u-turns in the middle of an intersection) 3. It has never been able to correctly guide me from one location to another 4. Due to the poor performance and erratic instructions, using the app is actually a safety hazard 5. It is far too expensive to be so flawed Although I hope that it improves in the future, it is useless to me at this stage.
Been using it for about 3 weeks now on a 3G.. Ive used tomtom on other devices as well as Garmins.. Overall, it does the job but you have to keep an eye for your destination unlike real navigation systems. Maps are clear and correct for the most part.. Yet one way streets are not indicated on some roads Ive been through... Which tells me either the maps are outdated or construction never stops here or simply the maps are wrong. It takes a while for the gps to lock on to a signal and sometimes doesnt stay on nor are you notified of the signal loss (no voice indicator). Doubt the software uses any triangulation to locate the phone (as in google maps).. Seems fully dependent on the gps chip. I found myself switching between the two just to be absolutely sure i got it right. the gps chip drains the battery quickly so make sure your charger is always handy. Icons are clear but would have been nice if all icons fit on a single screen (avoid scrolling up/down to get to the icon youre looking for... Maybe use the same square icon layout as in the iPhone itself and design it in a 3 x 4 matrix..) Summary: intuitive and easy to use.. it gets you close once it locks signal.. Worth $75..
the only reason I give this two stars is because the POI works great, but finding a route by address is abysmal in Kuwait. It doesnt have half of the correct streets and what it does have, it does not include house numbers. Tried my house in daiyah and my grandmothers house is mansouriya, was not able to list any house numbers on my street nor was it able to find my grandmothers house.
Many Mistakes, cut areas and their numbers in kuwait cities and streets also Hope to fix it
First of all its for ARABIC countries So of course it Should support Arabic. Second its need to be universal as Navigon App. its 99$ so plz support the iPad. Last point. Phone number in Qatar now are 8 digits so plz fix it its need to add 4 before each number
for those who really indenting to by Navigation app please never ever think of buying this app. i really regret every penny i spent on this app. i really still using google map for finding and navigating to POI the maps are not updated oh my god you really robbed me
